Is Sarah Palin qualified to be President? Yes.

Let me start off by saying, I have no political power or have ever been in a position of the people. However, I am an American who can elect people into that power. And the greatest election of them all is the office of the President of the United States. So what do all voters ask themselves before voting for a Presidential candidate? Are they qualified to do the job. Now the main point I want to talk about is the upcoming 2012 presidential election. And specifically Sarah Palin. This election has already been widely publicized by the media. There’s been speculation about candidates, whether or not Obama can win re-election, etc. But back to the qualifications. Is Obama really qualified to be President of the United States? If you’d ask a voter in 2008, they’d say absolutely. If you asked a voter in 2011, they’d likely say no. With a 50% approval rating, Barack Obama has gone from the Liberals savior to the countries pinhead. With his socialist policies such as Obamacare and the people he surrounds himself with, Barack Obama has done and said things that many Americans question dearly. And with just over 700 days in office, President Obama has even lower approval ratings than George Bush did at this same time during his Presidency. At 700 days in office, Obama is at a 50% approval rating and Bush had a 63% overall approval rating. But lets not look at the past right now, lets look at the present. Like I said earlier, the 2012 election. I predict now that it will go down as one of the most historical elections in this nations history. It could either be a huge win for the Republicans or a comeback for President Obama. And we got a little sneak peek at how the 2012 election could turn out, after the Republicans huge win in the 2010 Mid-Term election. All thanks to The Tea Party that is. But beside that, the main point I wanted to say is what are the real qualifications of being president? Is it being a senator for 6 years or being in congress for terms upon terms? Or how about a PhD from Harvard or Yale. No. The most important and the main qualification of being a president is leading and putting the country first. Not someone who is young and can relate to the young liberal crowd. A person who can lead this country to the top and to the best for the American people. And to keep that beacon of freedom alive. The United States of America is the best country in the universe. And you can’t debate it. So when we elect a President, that doesn’t lead us the right way and to the top, we must fire them. That being said, I do not believe that Obama is a leader. He is not a patriot.  And that’s not because I’m Conservative and he’s Liberal. It’s because he does not lead this country to its best and to the top. And in relation to the 2012 election, one of the most widely speculated presidential candidates, Sarah Palin, has been said to be unqualified to be the President of the United States.

And yes even GOP elites have claimed this same statement. Which I see as a mistake in the future. Now as a huge Palin supporter, I look at this statement critically and analyze her qualifications, if she chooses to run for office. And I still strongly believe that she definitely is. Now before all the Liberals start leaving hate comments, hear me out. I have a good reason as to why. As I said earlier, the main qualification that a President needs, is leadership. Leading a nation and taking charge is what a President must do while in office. And part of being that leader is supporting and defending the constitution at all costs. Our nation was founded on these key principles, that Barack Obama doesn’t want to follow. And it’s wrong. It’s not the American way. It’s not in the best interest of our country. But just recently in the past two years, a new movement came about. The Tea Party. And at the center of it all is Governor Sarah Palin. She took charge with the tea party and said hey, this isn’t right for our country and for the future generations. And from the results of the 2010 Mid-Term election, Sarah Palin made a major mark in American Politics. A mark that will definitely be in the history books.  Now with her taking charge and becoming such a huge political figure/speculated candidate, she was criticized as not being qualified for running for office. One main aspect the main stream media brought up, was the fact that she resigned as Governor in July 2009. The Liberal left says she doesn’t have enough experience for being only a half term governor and for not being on the national level of politics. They claim she is a media and money whore, and is only in it for the notoriety. But if you stop reading and watching all of this made up BS, you learn that Sarah Palin is a true candidate and definitely one of the most qualified candidates for the office of President.

They chastise her for not going to a major ivy league college. Yes she has a bachelor degree from the University of Idaho, but isn’t that something we want her to have? We need now, more than ever, a candidate that is an everyday normal American citizen. Not someone who has a JD from Harvard. Someone who is at home with Americans.

They say she has no experience. Some of the best Presidents in the history of the country were Governors just like Sarah Palin. Yes, she did resign in 2009, but she was still Gov. and was exposed to politics on the nation level, being the 2008 GOP VP Nominee.  Plus do not forget her municipal government experience. While it may not be glamorous — municipal government affects our day-to-day lives in significant ways: the amount of sales tax we pay, our property tax burden, the quality of our children’s public schools — our city parks, streets and amenities — and the safety of our neighborhoods and drinking water. Municipal government determines whether our community welcomes free enterprise or creates unnecessary barriers to commerce. As a mayor and city manager for six years, Sarah Palin presided over an $11 million operating budget in Wasilla, Alaska. Serving as her city’s youngest chief executive, Palin supervised city personnel, made hiring and firing decisions, and drafted detailed financial documents. She made Wasilla one of the fastest growing cities in not only Alaska, but America as well. Palin even once said that municipal governance is, “great training ground” for national leaders. She says economic growth starts at the local level, not the national. Those 10 years being Mayor and City Manager to help in running a country. This history, is something that I believe you should note, when questioning Palin’s qualifications.

Polls. Yes Palin isn’t doing too hot in the polls right now. But I believe it’s because no one has officially announced their candidacy yet. Yes, she is still considered one of the GOP front runners along with Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. However, I think once Republican candidates begin announcing their run, polls will change. And if Palin runs and wins the GOP nomination, polls will change drastically in 2012. Plus nowadays, some polls aren’t that trustworthy.

Finally, The Tea Party. You tell me The Tea Party had no affect on America, I’ll call you an idiot. The Tea Party is the only reason the current 112th congress has a GOP controlled House and a dying Democratic Senate. Palin endorsed many candidates in the 2010 Mid-Term election. And over 70% of them won. Some were candidates that citizens have never even heard of before. New guys that were elected because of their similarity with average Americans. And their commonsense solutions. These newly elected Tea Party candidates also promised to Americans, that Obamacare would be repealed and that spending would stop. So far they’ve kept their promise. And this great country is getting back on the right track.

So when you say, Sarah Palin is not qualified to be the 45th President of the United States, I ask then what is. Is it screwing America, killing defense, and killing jobs? Because if you believe it is, vote for Barack Obama in 2012. But if you don’t, ask yourself this last note. Do you want 4 more years of the same, or 4 new years of a President that can get us back on the right track. You can quote me, if Sarah Palin runs for President and wins the GOP nomination, she will be elected the 45th President of the United States. Americans will have two choices in November 2012. And if Palin is one of them, Obama better start packing.

I usually take my political advice from a 15 year old. How about we talk about foreign policy? International diplomacy? Yes, I believe that she has a decent shot at being president as well. I mean we had that defective ex-drug addict cowboy in office for 8 years and I’m not sure he’s competent enough to tie his own shoes. Yes, this is America. Land of opportunity where if you have enough money, you truly can be whatever you want. However qualification is an entirely different story. And just to clarify, isn’t the “lack of experience argument which is tackled here – ‘
“They say she has no experience. Some of the best Presidents in the history of the country were Governors just like Sarah Palin.” the same argument that many use to talk about how Obama is under-qualified? Unfortunately politics are no longer a game of qualification because you’re not really electing a president, you’re electing a scapegoat. Somebody to either place the blame or praise for things that that individual does not really accomplish, but rather their administration who calls the shots for them.
As for being electable, your vote only accounts for so much. The electoral college was implemented to make those big decisions that the blindly faithful American simple folk are just too incapable to make.’
And as far as education goes, I would much rather trust the country to somebody who wasn’t an underachiever.

All this aside, I think that this was extremely well written, and a valid argument. Mr. D’Andrea may very well have a place in politics somewhere down the line.

    Cheers.

By the way, after replying to Zimarci and Kelly Grahl, I realize that I forgot to say something. I, and you wouldn’t believe how many more troops, would follow GW Bush to hell and back to fight for your freedoms.(Been there, done that.) BUT, Obama can kiss my ASS.

You have a lot of growing to do my friend. I encourage you to stop watching Fox News (the words “main-stream media” “obamacare” and “socialist policies” make it pretty evident that you do) and get your information (AND analysis!!) from other sources. While (I hope) this changes your viewpoint, it could just as likely strengthen it. So good luck, and kudos for being so interested in politics at such a young age.

Nice essay man. Only advice I have is shoot for shorter paragraphs =)

Open your mind a bit, think it over again. The stuff Obama has done for this country is staggering; I’m glad we have such a proactive administration that focuses most of its energy towards helping Americans. Not oil companies, not the military industrial complex, not the prisons, corporations or old college buddies, but us.

The latest fad on the news recently has spiraled out of control; cable news is basically calling Obama a lame duck president with low aproval who never followed through on anything and won’t have anything to show for at the end of 4 years. Nothing could be farther from the truth, but most Americans don’t realize this. When those news guys need something to say, they do surface research to reinforce ideas they already have. They don’t make sound choices or new opinions; they just need a way to keep a 24 hour news network running with passable ratings.

Obama has spearheaded more positive US policy both at home and abroad than any other president in history. I know that sounds mighty subjective, but it’s a fact. Check out this website; it’s really cool to know what policy didn’t make TV news and the splash of sarcasm is refreshing.

This is for you too, Kelly Grahl
Let me guess, you probably are just old enough to have just voted in your first presidential election, maybe two. You have never traveled outside America. You repeat what you have read or seen in the media about political issues, but never did any research to learn for yourself. I looked at the website you mentioned, same old idealistic crap. Wake up and smell the coffee. Lets call a spade, a spade.(Hey, Al Sharpton, that is just an old saying that has nothing to do with racism!)

What has Obama really done for my country? Record unemployment, so much for the stimulus plan. Obamacare, my insurance premiums continue to rise, but medical services have been reduced. Since 9-11 and while GW Bush had been in office. Not a single, successful terrorist act had occurred on American soil. Under Obama, Fort Hood Killings, military recruiter office killings, all by Islamic radicals.

Do you know how many Czars Obama has and what their backgrounds are? The socialist party has taken over without Congressional oversight. Transparency? The windows at the White House are all covered with aluminum foil.

Have you ever served in the military? Been in combat and had to hold your dying buddy in your arms telling him that he will be ok, while his legs are lying thirty feet away?

This Henry character may be young, but at least he shows a Patriotic spirit. We need more youngsters like him that truly seek a realistic solution for America.

Please listen to this about Sarah Palin

  7. so you like her experience as mayor of a small town- according to the AP:

WASILLA – The Matanuska-Susitna area is the methamphetamine capital of Alaska, according to Alaska State Troopers.

In 2003, authorities uncovered nine meth labs in the area. Last year, the number increased to 42, said Kyle Young, an investigator with the troopers who works with the Mat-Su narcotics team.

even the mother of levi johnson, the guy her daughter was having unprotected sex with, was involved in drugs. also- regarding your comparison of bushs’ poll numbers and obama’s at 700 days in office- the numbers are not comparable because of patriotic support for the president after 9/11. reagan was at 37′% 700 days into his presidency…
